Management Actions

The River Tweed Commission has the following management measures in place to ensure its functions and regulatory powers are carried out in a manner that achieves the conservation objectives for the inshore marine protected areas in which it operates:

  1. RTC work collaboratively and share information with other fisheries regulators (EA and NIFCA) on the coast
  2. Work to ensure that management regimes in the Tweed and Eye Fisheries District have regard to the designated features of marine protected areas
  3. Regulation of net fisheries at a sustainable level
  4. Promoting biosecurity and raising awareness of the impacts of non-native species within the Tweed Catchment
