The Northumberland Wildlife Trust operates, or has management which influence, on the following inshore marine protected areas between Fast Castle Head and the River Tyne:
● Berwickshire and North Northumberland Coast SAC
● Northumbria Coast SPA
● Northumberland Marine SPA
● Coquet to St Mary’s MCZ
Responsibilites
Management Actions
Northumberland Wildlife Trust has the following management measures in place to contribute towards the conservation objectives for the inshore marine protected areas in which it operates:
- Management of a suite of Nature Reserves on Druridge Bay and of the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve near Beadnell
- NWT carries out a programme of outreach activities, including some which contribute towards greater public understanding of the marine environment
